Iranian Ambassador to Baku Afshar Soleymani said that Iran-Azerbaijan relations in political, economic and cultural domains have developed fairly well over the past year, the Baku Today reported. He told that several cooperation agreements on economic projects, campaign against border trafficking, military and technical matters, energy and swap of gas have been signed by the officials of both sides during the one-year period. "The visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Tehran, that of Iranian Ministers of Health and Treatment, Information and Defense to Baku, as well as the meetings of the presidents and foreign ministers of the two countries have expedited the growing process of mutual relations. Besides, Iran and Azerbaijan cooperate in the fields of transport of goods within the framework of North-South Corridor and TRASICA, he added. He noted that the negotiations between the officials of two states about the Caspian Sea over the period have been fruitful and a remarkable progress has been made in this respect. The Iranian diplomat noted that the future of such talks is promising. Soleymani put the annual value of trade exchanges between the two countries at 450 million dollars.
