According to the former head of the Security Police (KaPo) of Estonia, the current Minister of Interior, Juri Pihl, the case of the high-ranking official Herman Simm, accused of high treason, is not unique in Estonia, ERR Uudised reports.
"Sometimes it happens so that it is known about an existence of a problem, however, criminal office-work demands to follow firm rules and the questions are solved by means of other administrative methods", ERR Uudised is quoting the minister as saying, referring to the Estonian language AK program.
As concerns the Simm’s case, the current Minister of Interior who headed the KaPo in 1995 when Simm was employed disassociates himself form the case as the law on state secrets was accepted only in 1999. |
