Some activities seem to weary the people of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhichevan (Southern Azerbaijan) for a rather long time now. The main reasons of this weariness are, as everyone knows, high unemployment rate, even higher system of bribe and corruption, and consequent oppression and menace policy of Nakhichevan administration, Turkish Diplomatik Gozlem notes.
The desperate people of Nakhichevan are seeking refuge in neighbouring countries, and begging the Azeri President Ilham Aliev to intervene in favour of them. Nevertheless, for the moment it seems impossible to resolve these problems, which have become chronic, in a short delay.
Parliamentary elections in the near future provoke further the pressure of Nakhichevan administration upon the people. Thus, the people have to look for a remedy in foreign forces, especially in the USA and other Western countries. That the people have to hope some remedy from these foreign forces is responded by the Nakhichevan administration with even more oppression. Therefore, the relations between the administration and the people became a “vicious circle”.
As to the evolution in the near past much discussed in Nakhichevan, we meet again some well-known people and their corrupt deed as usual.

Vasif Talibov |
Here are some of them summed up. Nakhichevan Grand Assembly President, Vasif Talibov’s brother and famous actor Muharrem Talibov possesses a health centre in Nakhichevan city. It is claimed that the medical machines in this health centre along with the “Nakhichevan’s Voice” radio were purchased for 150 thousand dollars, a price higher than their real value.
According to the claims, following the order of the Assembly President Talibov, some buildings belonging to the Turkish mosque, which had been built by the Turkish Religious Affairs Presidency in the Nakhichevan city centre, were dismantled in June. As to the construction materials, they had been used in the building of the summer house of the Garrison Commander Kerem Mustafaiev near the Nakhichevan brook. And that is not all. On the ground, where those buildings once stood before the dismantlement, a mall will be constructed by the Cahan-MMS Export-Import Firm, and the partner of this firm is Talibov’ brother, Muharrem Talibov.
The Turkish Ministry of Defence sent in 2004 and 2005 aid materials to the Nakhichevan units. Upon the materials, there was the notice, “Owned by the Turkish Defence Ministry-Not for sale”. Nevertheless, sale of these materials is carried out in the public market in the Nakhichevan city centre. Furthermore, it is reported that other aid materials donated by other countries, which are supposed to provide the needs of Nakhichevan units until 2008, had been completely sold out. Aids, which are supposed to cover their needs from the end of 2008, will be sold from July on.
Furthermore, it is much discussed lately that Muharrem Talibov has a very big account in London banks, and that Vasif Talibov possesses a luxurious villa in England, where he welcomes some of his important guests from time to time.
